Safe Zone Program at NDSU
“The Safe Zone symbol is a message to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth and their allies. A person displaying this symbol is one who will be understanding, supportive, and trustworthy if a gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender person needs help, advice or just someone with whom they can talk. The person displaying this symbol is also a person who can give anyone accurate information about sexual orientation issues.”
We offer Safe Zone Ally Training sessions several times each year; these are facilitated by NDSU faculty, staff and students. We are in the process of developing various resources (brochures, books, etc.) to supplement our training sessions to give our support network additional information. We also are committed to bringing to campus outside speakers who can provide additional information and resources to our network.
The Safe Zone is a program of the Memorial Union, Division of Student Affairs, North Dakota State University. For information about the Safe Zone program, contact Kara Stack, assistant director for campus programs, at 231-8566 or Kara.Stack@ndsu.nodak.edu.
